A Hot Second Half Start

After the Giants killed it at the All Star game they continued their dominance and began the second half of the season winning 7 of their first 9 games.  They began by sweeping the Houston Astros at home, if the Astros didn’t have to play us ever again I think they’d be relieved, and then the Giants went on the road to face the Braves and the Phillies where they took 2 out of 3 games from each team.  The team has been able to get off to such a hot start after the All Star break because of their pitching and the bats of The Melk Man, Buster, and Crawford…. yes you heard me right, Brandon Crawford.

Goin Yard!

Going into today’s game the series versus the San Diego Padres was all tied up at 1 game a piece.  The Giants have been on a roll as of late and wanted to steal the last game from the struggling San Diego Padres.  And who better to give the Giants that chance other than their own Matt Cain? No one.  Cain pitched 7 innings giving up 3 unearned runs, due to our continuous bad play in the field.  But thankfully to our big bats that came out swinging today that didn’t matter.  Posey, Pagan, and Blanco all went deep in the game and the Giants ended up taking the win 8-3 and also the series in San Diego. Grab Some Pine Meat!

On Friday June 1st the Giants started a four game series versus the Chicago Cubs.  To get the weekend started on a positive note Theriot and Posey both knocked in runs in the first inning and Cabrera continued his hot streak from May by knocking in a run in the 3rd along with Posey, his second of the night.  That’s all Madison Bumgarner would need as he threw 8 solid innings of no run baseball.  “Mad Bum” has been pitching lights out with 11 strikeouts his last outing and a 6-4 record on the season.
