The week leading up to the All Star game that was in the home of the Kansas City Royals there was a lot of negative talk about the Giants having 3 positions players and a pitcher start for the National League. Well as soon as the game got underway on Tuesday night all of that talk came to a screeching halt as Posey, Sandoval, Cain, and Cabrera all had huge games and were the main reasons why the National League killed the American League 8-0.
The hype leading up to the game was the American League’s stacked line up, but Cain had his own thoughts on that. Cain and Posey had things going good as usual as Cain started the game and pitched 2 solid innings of no run baseball. Sandoval had a great game with 3 RBI’s, while Cabrera also lit up the sky with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Funny enough when the game was over there was no more talk about how the Giants players were only starting the game because their fans voted for them, but instead it was focused on how dominate the San Francisco players were and carried the National League to victory. At the end of the game Cabrera was named the MVP for the National league, hopefully our All Stars bring some of that much hitting and pitching back to San Francisco for this weekends series versus the Houston Astros.
